About me

I am a tenure-track Assistant Professor at Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. I am also a Dissertation Fellow of Luohan Academy. I obtained my Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in 2025.

I study how individual decisions about data sharing aggregate into market-wide outcomes, especially when those decisions impose externalities on others. Digital privacy is a central setting for this agenda. I examine how privacy choices evolve over time, how privacy preferences and strategic sophistication shape disclosure in selection markets, and how transparency, in platform design and in regulation, affects behavior and welfare. Across my work, I want to identify when data flows create value, when they generate market failures, and how firms and policymakers can balance data flows against privacy protection.

I choose methods to answer the research questions on causal inference: quasi-experiments, field experiments, structural modeling, and LLMs, depending on what the problem needs.

Outside research, I have been dancing ballet since I was 4. I snowboard in winter and hike in summer.
